Cinnamon , Cinnamomum verum L. , is a tree native to Sri Lanka, but is now widely cultivated in other tropical regions, including Madagascar. Its evergreen leaves, white flowers, and purple berries are all testaments to its vigor.

Because of its natural strength, it is typically used in very small quantities in aromatic creations and should always be well diluted before any external application.
